Hi Arjun. There is a thumb rule for remembering genders barring some exceptions. nouns ending with the sound आ, इ, ई are usually feminine; remaining nouns are masculine.

Dear Arjun,

There are some tips on genders, at least for part of Hindi nouns, but they are based on the origin and structure of the words and are complicated. For the beginning learner, they will be confusing rather than helpful. I suggest that you simply practise and check noun genders each time you are not sure.
