Actually, अश्रु is a Sanskrit word, which is frequently used in Hindi leterature and poetry. Also, highly educated and sophisticated people use this word in their conversation but the common people use आँसू.
It lacks context but it appears that someone is explaining the others that अश्रु means आँसू
