Hindi term or phrase: Kya item hain, baap!
I found it here, i don't know hindi to translate this sentense. i need translation of the full sentense and word by word translation of words in this sentense also (i mean the sentense Kya item hain, baap!). Mairi: My grammar book from Class IX propounded that this is a mis-pronounciation of "Mary" and was inducted into the Bengali vocabulary by the babus of the Raj.
"Meyeta ki dekhtey, mairi!" (In Mumbai lingo: "Kya item hain, baap!") is the commonest usage of the word - though other uses vary from confession (“Mairi bolchhi, ami korini” – “I swear I didn’t do it!”) to exasperation (“Jaliye marlo, mairi” – “The bugger is making my life hell!”). The first one is found more in educational institutions while the latter is reserved for Hari Sadu-like bosses!

English translation:what a girl, man!
Explanation:
'kya' is 'what'.
'item' is 'item'/'material'/(girl in this context)
'hain' is 'is'
'baap' is 'father' (but used as 'oh boy' 'oh man' 'etc

This expression is used to comment about girl (usually) by men, meaning as 'what a beautiful girl' or 'what a cute girl' or 'wow, what a girl, man'' etc.

the use of 'item' and 'baap' in the expression makes it slang like expression and not very decsent to be used in formal occassion.

what a beautiful girl, man! or what a sexy girl, man!

Explanation:
Meyeta ki dekhtey, mairi!" (In Mumbai lingo: "Kya item hain, baap!")
Meyeta means girl here ,
ki dekhte means how beautiful
mairi is euivalent to I swear.
so the whole sentence in mumbaiya accent would be
what a beautiful girl, man! or what a sexy girl, man!
