I'm absolutely fascinated by the former Kaumudī Mahotsava in Pāṭalīputra as then was. I imagine this festival is no longer celebrated in Modern India. Nevertheless, as it was so famous a festival, I should imagine it's highly probable that it's still remembered and referred to in Hindi with the use of various of your tatsama words.
Anyway, I think it used to be celebrated on the first full moon day of the autumn season. There would be courtesans following the Dhūrta, experts in narrating love stories or love talk; this love talk was known as ratichaturakathakovid or something.
It is ratichaturakathakovid that I am looking for. I've managed to work out, I think, three of the four parts of this compound, but for a good translation I need the missing part, i.e. the chatura part, please.

I think your expression in the question is related to meaning of the term. In this context, no Etymological explanation or Lexical is not required. Its simpal compound रति+चतुर+कथा+कोविद. We can see etymology of कोविद. it is को+विद.
can we be sure that the second element is not चतुरं, which means "four" at the end of Sanskrit compounds, cf expressions like वयस्यद्वयं, "two friends", an alternative for वयस्यौ. If so, रतिचतुरं could refer to the four kinds or, perhaps better, stages of amorous enjoyment: 1. foreplay 2. penetration 3. orgasm 4. afterglow, or some such.
