Az "educational farm" is hasonló, de az nem feltétlenül egy egyetemhez tartozik, lehet külön entitás, aminek célja szintén oktatás. Van olyan, amelyet főiskolai, egyetemi diákok működtetnek, de van olyan is, amit közvetlenül a helyi önkormányzat, vagy egy non-profit szervezet működtet.
