Hungarian term or phrase: hatóságomnak
Az építési munka megkezdését hatóságomnak előzetesen be kell jelenteni.

My authority must be notified... nagyon furcsa nekem. Tudjuk, hogy miről van szó és a "my office must be notified" jó is lenne, kivéve, hogy az nem hatóság.

to this authority, to the authority hereof
Explanation:
látni már láttam ilyen (to my offices), de nekem is furcsa - ezeket csak jobb híján javaslom, ha nagyon közeli a határidő, mert én ezeket írnám, ha időzavarban vagyok

(my) local authority

Explanation:

to this office

Explanation:
A több lehetésges változat közül olyat kell választani, ami félreérthetetlen utasítást ad. Magyarul is hülyén hangzik, hogy hatóságomnak, hiszen nem az övé a hatóság, hanem ő csak képviseli a hatóságot. I am sorry, I just read on the side that you prefer the explanation in English. Let me try it then. The expression "hatóságomnak" used in Hungarian is awkward and sounds silly since the author does not own the authority. He/she is a mere representative of an office empowered by an authority therefore the use of the possessive pronoun is incorrect. In the translation we are to convey a message and the meaning of the original and not the awkwardness and sillyness of the original (apart from legal cases where the style albeit incorrect may contribute to the compounding effect of an act). The translation should be straightforward, and free of ambiguities, therefore I prefer the suggested term.

disagree  juvera: "Office" doesn't convey the meaning of authority. It would, if you were talking about "in my office" as "in my capacity as the representative of the authority I am working for" but in the UK the authority is not "office"
