Failing to subscribe to an increase in capital stock early would limit the Asian Development Bank’s ability to respond decisively and comprehensively to the global recession. This may deepen the impact of the global recession in the Asia-Pacific region.

Example sentence(s):
  • Where an increase in capital is not fully subscribed, the capital will be increased by the amount of the subscriptions received only if the conditions of the issue so provide.
  • Ha a tőkeemelést nem jegyzik le teljes mértékben, a tőkét a lejegyzett részvények összegével csak abban az esetben lehet megemelni, ha a kibocsátás feltételei erről kifejezetten így rendelkeztek.

Subscirbed capital: the individual subscribed share value and liability of the total share capital of a company. It is the par value of that part of the authorized share capital which has been issued (sold) as shares-whether their purchasers (shareholders) have paid for them or not. A firm can, at any time, issue new shares up to the full amount of authorized share capital. Also called subscribed capital, issued share capital or subscribed share capital.

Subscribed capital is the amount of money that the prospective shareholders actually agree to invest in return for their shares. The subscribed capital can quite often be less than the authorized capital. This simply means that the company has actually issued (or sold) only a part of its shares to the shareholders, whereby the remaining shares are not issued yet.
