A többek által jelzett TO kapcsán: amennyiben a bérlőre iratják át a szerződéseket, az angol fordítás valóban így helyes: "contracts transferred TO the tenant". A kérdéses mondatrész azonban úgy szól pontosan, hogy "átirat a bérlő nevére". Ennek fordítása: "transferred into the tenant's name." Példákkal igazolható, hogy ez nyelvtanilag helyes. Lásd:

Én számtalanszor fordítottam már angolról szerződéseket, ahol ez így szerepelt, nem szótárból néztem ki a választ. A 'transfer sg. into sy's name' egyáltalán nem szokatlan, legfeljebb csak annak, aki ritkán olvas amerikai 'legalese' szövegeket. Fent az utolsó idézetben mindkettőre (TO és INTO) egy mondatban találunk jó példát:
"...to be transferred INTO the Tenants NAME at the commencement of the Tenancy and back INTO the Landlords NAME at the end of the term or TO another TENANT."
Az alábbi szintén valódi 'legalese' (nem én írtam, csak másolom), ami megerősíti azt a gyanúmat, hogy azért a 'transfer "INTO" someone's name' a helyes, mert amikor valaki nevÉN ((magyarul -én, és nem nevéBEN)) vannak a közművek, azt angolul úgy mondjuk, 'they are "IN" someone's name':
"As a condition of the Purchase Agreement, Buyer(s) hereby agrees to have all utility services
Including water, sewer, electricity, gas and Home Owners Association dues, if applicable,
transferred INTO Buyer’s name no later than the first business day following closing. Buyer(s) also agrees to accept responsibility for payment of utility charges accrued after date of closing. All or some of the utility service are IN the name of the Seller, or the Listing Broker. It is the buyer’s sole and absolute responsibility to make any arrangements necessary for the transfer of utilities INTO their name."
(Keresgéltem egyébként a könyveimben, de mindeddig nem akadtam nyomára erre vonatkozó szabálynak. Az is lehetséges, hogy nyelvtanilag helytelen, de annyira elterjedt itt az USA-ban, mint amennyire a metrikus mértékegységek *nem*. Pedig arra van rendelet is. :) |
