A honosítás angolul naturalization. A honosítási okirat az az okmány, amely igazolja, hogy a külföldi állampolgár honosítás révén állampolgárságot nyert a választott országban. Ez angolul certificate of naturalization. (Nekem is van ilyen, bár ez amerikai okirat.) A konkrét, magyar esetben - határon túli magyarok honosítása - ugyancsak ezt az elnevezést használjuk, az állampolgársági törvény rendelkezéseinek értelmében. Ennek angol változatából idézem a vonatkozó részletet:

Rules of Competence, Oath and Solemn Promise
Section 6
(1) The President of the Republic shall decide on applications for the acquisition of Hungarian citizenship through naturalization or re-naturalization, based upon the recommendation of the Minister of the Interior.
(2) The President of the Republic shall issue a certificate of naturalization or re-naturalization attesting the acquisition of Hungarian citizenship (hereinafter "certificate of naturalization")."
