A kérdés feltevésekor úgy érzem, egy lényeges rész lemaradt, ez az OKBÓL. "alvállalkozóinak fel nem róható okból keletkezett" ezt teljesen másként kell fordítani, mint pl. egy egyén felróható magatartásáról van szó. A "held against" és az "imputable to" ez utóbbi esetre megfelel, a kérdéses FEL (NEM) RÓHATÓ OK(ok)BÓL viszont angolul más: FOR REASON(s) NOT ATTRIBUTABLE TO.

A kérdés fősorában ez szerepel:
"fel nem róható".
Ez nyilván helyhiány miatt ilyen rövid. A részmondat, amelyben a teljes problémás kifejezés elhangzik, így szól:
"... feltéve, hogy a hiba, illetve hiányosság az Ügyfélnek, az Ügyfélhez kapcsolt vállalkozásoknak, vagy alvállalkozóinak fel nem róható okból keletkezett ..." A történet tehát, hogy amikor hiba vagy hiányosság lép fel, és ennek számos oka lehet, a kérdéses idézetben szereplő kitétel célja, hogy kizárják az Ügyfél, stb. felelősségét a hiba okozására vonatkozóan. A részmondatot én a következő módon fordítanám:
"... provided that the fault or deficiency occurred for reasons not attributable to the Customer, the Customer's affiliated businesses or their subcontractors ..."
