Az első idézett google-bookban: "V is the volume of the bullet channel produced in WOOD" teljesen helytálló, pont ezt magyarázom, hogy HA ez egy olyan lyuk, hogy folyadékot lehet bele önteni....
A másodikban: "cavities of the bullet channel were up to 30 times bullet diameter" - hát igen, ha az öklöm is belefér.
A másik kettő nekem nem hajlandó feltárni a titkait.
Mondjuk úgy, hogy minek erőltetni egy feltételes esetekben használt kifejezést, ha van rá egy precíz, bevett is. Sajnos bíróságon is tolmácsoltam, és fordítottam is már lövedékes sebesülésekről szóló anyagot, sőt, véletlenül pont most is azzal töltöm a szombatot. Én maradok a tracknál. :-)

...de magyar-angol kérdés, és ha más is használni akarja ezt a kifejezést, akkor a channel félrevezető. Mint mondtam, a channel fordításból ered, az angol a trackot használja, neki az a természetes. A channel meghatározása: "tubular passage or duct for liquid"; olyan kifejezésekben használatos, ahol a lyuk folyamatos, és az átmérője nagyjából egyenletes, és ha az egyik végén folyadékot öntenél bele, akkor a másik végén kijönne. Ami ebben az esetben nagyon ritkán fordul elő, mert ugyan nyomon lehet követni "trackable", de a puha szövet összeesik, a csont és egyéb kemény anyag pedig a lövedék hatására gyakran darabokra törik.
