Icelandic term or phrase: svefn-g-englar
svefn-g-englar

ég er kominn aftur
inn í þig
það er svo gott að vera hér
en stoppa stutt við
ég flýt um í neðansjávar hýði
á hóteli
beintengdur við rafmagnstöfluna
og nærist
(the chorus is in hopelandic = gibberish)
en biðin gerir mig leiðan
brot hættan sparka frá mér
og kall á - verð að fara - hjálp
ég spring út og friðurinn í loft upp
baðaður nýju ljósi
ég græt og ég græt - aftengdur
ónýttur heili settur á brjóst
og mataður af svefn-g-englum
melissa
English translation:Sleepwalking Angels
Explanation:
I'm have come back
into you
it's so good being here
but only for a while
I float about in a submarine lair
in a hotel
wetwired to the fusebox
and feed
[chorus]
but the waiting makes me sad
fragile I kick back
and call for - have to leave - help
I burst out and the peace to smithereens
bathed in a new light
and cry and cry - offline
a wasted brain nursed
and breastfed by sleepwalkers

[Note: "svefngenglar" simply means sleepwalkers, "svefn" being sleep and "genglar" meaning walkers. "Englar" however means angels, so "svefn-g-englar" is a rather forced play with words, perhaps translatable as Sleepwalking Angels.]
