This makes no sense to me..
I am understanding it as
a profit of about XXX euro, after taxes but prior to the amortization of start up costs

I agree with Jim that this could be just EBIT, but in the specific case you give I believe that "lordo dell’ammortamento per avviamento" means before amortis(z)ation of goodwill, not "start-up costs", which are "Costi di impianto e di ampliamento" - start-up and expansion costs |
