Italian term or phrase: al lordo dell'ammortamento
"in linea con il piano finanziario che prevede come obiettivo un risultato positivo di circa xxx Euro, al netto di tasse ma al lordo dell’ammortamento per avviamento. "
This makes no sense to me..
I am understanding it as
a profit of about XXX euro, after taxes but prior to the amortization of start up costs

Please send me all of your suggestions and thanks bunches for being willing to help

gross of/before amortis(z)ation
Explanation:
I agree with Jim that this could be just EBIT, but in the specific case you give I believe that "lordo dell’ammortamento per avviamento" means before amortis(z)ation of goodwill, not "start-up costs", which are "Costi di impianto e di ampliamento" - start-up and expansion costs

before depreciation and amortization

Explanation:
As in EBITDA - Earnings before interest tax depreciation and amortization
You could simply translate this as "EBIT" "after tax and before depreciation and amortization" depreciation is for tangibles and amortization for intangibles
