Italian term or phrase: attività finanziarie per cassa
Appears in an acounting manual for bank in a section on the accounting of securities.

This term has been tranlsated previously for the client as both "cash financial assets" and "on-balance sheet financial assets". However, I think the "per cassa" refers to "per cassa e fuori bilancio" i.e. "on- and off-balance sheet" as per the Basel documentation. I have also seen that in some cases the "per cassa" isn't translated i.e. just "financial assets".

My question is whether you think "cash financial assets" is wrong, given that the "attività finanziarie per cassa" are defined as "quote di OICR, titoli di debito, titoli di capitali", which surely aren't "cash assets". And also if "on-balance sheet financial assets" is correct.

Thanks,
Dominic

Explanation:
Which you put will depend on the context. "cash financial assets" is wrong, it would mean cash in English, which it is NOT.
