date/time stamp on the receipt
Explanation:
Hi Michelle:
From the way I rad it...and since we use them in the office... the protocol number is a unique number assigned to a document when registered (serves to easily trace the document if needed). The date/stamp on the receipt is a stamp which is affixed to a document (at least by all italian ministries) which shows the date and time the document is received. This date/time stamp can be placed on a separate receipt or directly on the parcel/letter. Used a lot when receiving sealed bids. Hope this helps.
