Italian to English translations [PRO] Bus/Financial - Accounting | | Italian term or phrase: Costi generali di struttura e Profitto dell’Impresa | This is an item in an index so I do not have a context. It seems to me to be an odd juxtaposition of terms and the only way I can make sense of it is:
General overheads and costs of generating business profit.
Is there anyone to whose superior knowledge I can bow? |

| | General overheads and profit of the company | Explanation: Low confidence, because they are two unusual items to put side by side. However I am pretty sure that it is not as you suggest "costs of the profits", but costs and profit, otherwise there would be an extra "di" at least in there. The "profitto dell'impresa" might be of the separate company, rather than the Group. |

1 hr confidence: Operating expenses and Company Profit
Explanation: To make it more "English" sounding
I'd say Company profit and operating expenses
Operating Expenses (a.k.a. OPEX) already mean general expenses/expenditures so it would be repetitive to keep general in there.
http://www.moneychimp.com/glossary/operating_expenses.htmh
Expenses associated with running a business but not considered directly applicable to the current line of goods and services being sold. These include Sales and Marketing, R & D, and General and Administrative costs (including the salaries of people working in these areas).

operating expenses
Those incurred in carrying out a firm's day to day activities, but not directly associated with production. Operating expenses include payroll, sales commissions, employee benefits and pension contributions, transportation and travel, amortization and depreciation, rent, repairs, and taxes, etc. Also called non-manufacturing expenses, these expenses are usually subdivided into selling expenses and administrative and general expenses.
