Italian term or phrase: fa bella mostra di se
Again- this is property description. In this case, they are referring to a town across the bay from the mansion: "In lontananza, la cittadina protetta dai bastioni fa bella mostra di se".
I am not satisfied with any of my ideas for a translation so far, I'm not sure the personification of the town works in English in this case. Suggestions? thanks

neutral  Oliver Lawrence: this is a great piece of wording, only I'm not sure if a 'cittadina' is grand enough to carry off 'splendour'

-> You never know: it could be a pretty impressive town...Was tempted to put "the town twinkles in its splendour" but I think that's because I passed a shop this morning with Christmas decorations up!

agree  Armilla: Yay, why not?

agree  philgoddard: I agree with Oliver about splendour, but I like your construction. How about "sits in all its beauty"? Also it's a town, not a city.

Explanation:
This is an equivalent translation in the strong sense of the term. If you translate it as it is, it just won't work as an advertisement.
