The other answer is correct, but the term is often used to refer to something made of paper or light cardboard and involving some designing, resulting in a sophisticated (modern, trendy, groovy,... kitch ;-) looking object.

I'd say something like "the display, a sophisticated sample of paper artwork, hints to the color..."

Explanation:
cartotecnica is mainly used for a specific print activity, closer to packaging than to paper print. It includes print on heavier stock (cardboard, carton), in color, and with diecutting to achieve specific shapes.
A "cartotecnica" specialises in printing POP (point of purchase) or countertop displays, folders, boxes and containers, packaging (see links below for an Italian and an English cartotecnica).

I think here the term is just used to mean a printed and foldable cardboard display.
