composition/space
Explanation:
art/photography usually deal with "composition" to indicate the positioning of the items within the limited space
Generally speaking, space would do fine I think.

"Composition can be defined as a means of selecting appropriate elements and arranging them within the picture plane to communicate the artist’s ideas and feelings effectivly to the
viewer. Placing elements you have selected within your painting is very important. Composition
can create either a strong and interesting piece of work or a weak and confused piece.
Composition can be describes as the calming of the space within the picture plane. On a blank
sheet of paper, for example, there are infinite posibilities for the handling of space. Any mark,
shape or form you place on this paper will change the picture plane and composition is the way
an artist balances this picture plane to express what they want the viewer to experience."
