Italian term or phrase: cupola a sesto ribassato
I have found "drop arch" for "arco a sesto ribassato" but am wondering how this applies to a dome.
From a description of St. Mark's in Venice:
Recenti orientamenti della storiografia portano a ritenere che già la chiesa primitiva avesse una pianta a croce greca con cinque *cupole a sesto ribassato*. Any suggestions would be welcome!!

Asker: I found "drop arch" or "dropped arch" in the Thames & Hudson dictionary of Art Terms, as "any pointed arch whose span is greater than its radii".
