....All'interno è importante la statua della Vergine del Rosario sull'altare maggiore, opera di Grazioso Rusca, protostatuario del Duomo di Milano.

I kind of get the impression that it is some kind of "master sculptor" but am not sure....any help welcome - thanks.

Sculptor. He began his apprenticeship under Carlo Beretta (1716-64), and later worked with Carlo Francesco Mellone (d 1736), both of whom were protostatuari, or directors of sculpture, for the Fabbrica del Duomo in Milan.

Anche il tuo "master sculptor" non è male.

Da neofita, direi che master sculptor è corretto, ma tu saprai giudicare molto meglio di me.
