Italian term or phrase: un pilastro terminale di recinzione
Again describing part of an amphitheatre:

"Questo frammento marmoreo...fa parte di *un pilastro terminale di recinzione* di un anfiteatro.

Can I keep this as a noun phrase somehow, or do I need to use a longer translation?
Thanks again

the columns running around the perimeter were probably circular until they got to the end, when there would be two (or more) terminal columns of different shape (e.g square or coupled etc- a common device in classical architecture.)
