Italian term or phrase: radex
Dear colleagues, could you please help me with this one?

I have done a bit of research on Radex but all I can find is some kind of geigercounter......
Should I translate this term or leave it as it is as I feel that this is probably a brand name...

Thanks in advance!
Happy Ferragosto to you all!

polyester (drafting) film
Explanation:
'Before the widespread adoption of CAD, engineering plans or architectural drawings were plotted onto sheets of boPET film. The boPET sheets become legal documents from which copies or blueprints are made. boPET sheets are more durable and can withstand more handling than bond paper. This is no longer necessary, as traditional diazo "blueprint" duplication has fallen out of use.'

The same link provides the most popular brand names in the UK and US as 'Mylar, Melinex and Hostaphan'.

The 'controlucido' in the above ref. would be the 'radex'.

radex

Explanation:
Whether it is a name of material on which the drawing is made, or of a method used to make it, or of a machine whereby it's made, etc., I would leave it as is, for it sounds, and most likely is, a name rather than a term.
Cheers!

agree  Michael Korovkin: woa, Babs! I would like to go hunt porcini with you: you find things!!! While I mostly intuit: I thought it was a name of material on which it's printed

neutral  philgoddard: Maybe, but none of your references contains "radex".

-> Of course not, Phil, since they are in English, and the term is not used in your language. I have added an Italian source, although there are not many around specifying what radex really is...
