this is really a grammar question: I don't understand if LEI acquired the masks, or the museum. If it was the museum, why is this statement inserted into the sentence regarding the bequest? Thank you all for any clarification.

"Sono state donate sculture lignee, **acquisite maschere**, mentre con la sua morte LEI ha destinato al xxxx per la realizzazione del xxxx tutte le sue collezioni artistiche e l’archivio di xxxx"
