this is still from a text about post-impressionist Czech artist but it refers to Raphael's work "the judgement of paris" I had translated as

"the great size of the work and the material used" but I am not happy with that at all. Thanks very much in advance for your help.

Plastica= l'arte del plasmare
Genesis 2.7
allora il Signore Dio plasmò l'uomo con polvere del suolo
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground
I think that I only fully understood the words plasmare and plastica after reading the Italian translation of Genesis. I image in the minds of ancient readers would be similar to God moulding clay.
