Art/Literary - Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting / sculpture | | Italian term or phrase: quale ipotesi di affermazione nazionale mediata dal recupero dell... | Maybe I'm just tired but i am am having trouble unravelling the line '' quale ipotesi di affermazione nazionale mediata dal recupero dell’antica arte italica'' in the following (rather long) sentence and rendering it in plain English ..The context is a thesis describing the work of the sculptor Giacomo Manzoni and the previous paragraph describes some of the characteristic features his work shared with other artists of the Milanese 'Citta degli studi' circle ( as it came to be known), one of which is 'primitivism' . I think the writer is referring here to the celebration of classical art during the Fascist period and how it was used to evoke nationalist sentiment...
