Italian term or phrase:un intendimento che è facile
Hi folks. Could anyone help me unravel (and break up) this paragraph and suggest how I might translate the phrase above within the given context below. Again, it's probably obvious and just me who can't see the wood from the trees....

General context: paragraph describing the works of Giacomo Manzoni (Manzù) in the context of the Novecento.
In tal senso “Poligono” pareva enunciare, a fianco del fine europeista, lo svolgersi di un altro ben chiaro obiettivo, volto a garantire la sopravvivenza di quelle istanze moderne che dopo aver animato il decennio trascorso erano in parte confluite nel confuso amalgama di Novecento: un intendimento che è facile potesse incontrare l’attenzione di un giovane desideroso di adeguare il proprio linguaggio alla contemporaneità; a maggior ragione se a farlo proprio fosse stato un artista che stava riflettendo, come nel caso di Manzù, sulle potenzialità ‘sintetiche’ e ‘astraenti’ della linea di Modigliani.

the "facile" I think relates back to the "ben chiaro". An objective that is clear could/would likely attract the attention of a young man eager to adapt...
Hi Amanda; I'm tempted to think è facile means facilmente, almost like "it is easy to believe" in parenthesis; - an aim that might easily - but I hesitate to offer it as a confident answer.

Explanation: I take it we are in the early 1930s at the "Galleria del Poligono" in Milan. Unravelling (paraphraseing, not translating):
In this sense "Poligono" represented, ..., another very clear objective, designed to guarantee the survival of those modern .... which after .... came to form part of the confused .... of the twentieth century: an intention which could easily attract the attention of a young person wishing to...
The "intendimento" is that of the "svolgersi di un altro ben chiaro obiettivo". In place of the colon I would probably put a full stop and commence with "This was an intention which could easily" or even "objective which could easily" which would make the whole thing clearer. Doesn't matter whether you use aim, objective or intention, but the same word repeated to would make ease comprehension.
