to invest contiene sia la connotazione di assalire sia quella di conferire, attribuire, dare, che potrebbe essere più adeguata

a meno che non si parli di un pittore tipo Pollock la cui tecnica di base consiste nello scagliare i colori contro la tela

ma, appunto, se aggiungi il contesto e/o le frasi precedenti e successive aiutarti ha più senso...

non è bello cancellare le proprie risposte, se non altro perché ciò influisce anche sul senso delle successive - nella fattispecie, io avevo parlato di \"assalire\" perché la risposta precedente alla mia era proprio \"assalire\" (non sarebbe bello dire chi era l\'autore, e del resto non me lo ricordo) - quando è capitato a me di prendere uno sfondone (e mi è capitato, non ho problemi a dirlo...) ho lasciato la mia risposta lì dov\'era (pur vergognandomene parecchio...)
