Libro o registro di forma oblunga rilegato in vacchetta [pellame utilizzato spec. per la confezione di calzature militari e da lavoro o per valigeria, ottenuto conciando al tannino pelli bovine esotiche]- termine arcaico, oggi dialettale.

Dal contesto mi sembra di capire che Gentile Fornarini teneva un quaderno, o forse un diario, al quale il testo in questione ha gia' fatto riferimento.
