it would be a metal rod embedded into the brake lining (and connected to a cable) that will come into contact with the drum or disk when the lining is worn, thus warning the driver that brakes need servicing.
It is a long shot. I have never heard it called by this name. But from one factory to the one next door they call the same thing with different names, so I wouldn't be surprised.
