I would assume that this is a cutting ruler made of stainless steel as often used in technical drawing and also general DIY.
There seem to be a few variations such as cutting guide ruler. Have posted a couple of links, hope it helps. One other thing I would say is I would expect some type of callipers to be used to measure something that is not flat and uniform like an engine. |
