Italian term or phrase: collocato
Hi folks, I've put the chemistry on the back boiler, but now I have this complicated sort of sentence in which the trickiest word/concept, for me, is "collocato". I just don't see what they're getting at.
"Ditta xxx ha contratto un finanziamento dell'ammontare pari a 10 milioni di Euro a 5 anni ad un tasso variabile rispetto all'Euribor, collocato sull'Euromercato mediante Banca xxxx, per tramite della Filiale di xxxxx."
English translation:placed in the Euromarkets through...
here it means that the company xxx seeks to get financing, not directly with a loan , but placing its debt in the market, hoping that investors with buy it, give money in exchange for titles of debt, bonds in the financial terminology
see the reference below for an example of the use:
UMS due in 2011 placed in the international markets ... October 18, 2000 New Market Makers
of Fixed Rate ... Bond issued in international financial markets September
I hope this helps, ciao!

Thanks Hugo for your interesting explanation. That debt can be sold profitably on the market is the best news I've heard for months!
Thanks also to Telesforo and Simon
