under a sales account agreement

Explanation:
conto vendita means that goods are supplied by a supplier/manufacturer to the retailer "subject to sale" or under a sale or return agreement. This means that the retailer doesn't have to purchase and pay for goods before selling them or be left with unsold stock, i.e. he pays the supplier for what he sells and returns unsold stock to supplier. Though, if the franchisor is this case, according to me, it taking on a BIG business risk unless he has covered himself by asking for a large sum of money to grant the franchise or become part of the franchise network.

As an antiques dealer, I had a lot of articles in conto vendita from private customers which mean that they left their Bed or whatever with me to sell for a set period - when I sold the bed, I paid them the set agreed selling price.
The term I've used is a rendering as conto vendita is a very Italian way of doing business.

Ciao

The post-grading mechanism doesn't seem to work....

Explanation:
Rick, for me "consignment" is conto deposito", through the areas overlap. Conto vendita is a form of "conditional sale", an agreement in which it is stipulated via a "mandato di vendita" to attempt to sell the goods that are legally the property of someone else for a set period and for a mutually agreed price. Only when the sale takes place is it "perfected", otherwise the goods are returned to the owner. This is Sales on a sale or return basis. Returning the the asker's phrase, the Italian is not too clear: the text refers to "franchising" which could mean the "franchise" or the agreement behind selling the merchandise. Common business sense suggests that conto vendita refers to the merchandise. The only other solution that comes to mind that may fit the bill is a commission sales contract . If anyone can supply the correct English definition, I would also be very happy as this term is now bugging me!!
