due diligence investigation
Explanation:
(or due diligance report - as the result of the investigation - or simply: due diligence). -> see the links below.

It's borrowed from English, and it means the same like in English. The meaning has changed in English before the phrase was borrowed, it's of course not yet the original meaning of the word "diligence".
I think, it will fit your context - the cost of due diligence investigation ... in cases, when due diligence report has a negative result ...

due diligence

Explanation:

Explanation:
It is English! You can translate it as
"diligenza dovuta".
I won't give you references, because you'll find a lot of them, when you search for "due diligance" in any international search engine.

short-term bond or security

Explanation:
I'm relieved that even you don't know, Laura, as it certainly has me foxed. Obviously it is a borrowed English frase but used to mean something quite different. Since posing the question I have done a search using www.virgilio.it and found a site www.studiomintoap.com which "fornisce servizi..in materie di organizzazione aziendale, pianificazione fiscale, consulenza del lavoro,..., due diligence, ecc"
I am still only guessing the above suggestion on the basis of the context.

due diligence

Explanation:
Just guessing again here, Christine, but could we be talking of some kind of investigation or verification?
If you read:
"the cost of a due diligence investigation" AND
"if the due diligence investigation were to have negative results" AND
"a future due diligence investigation that will last two weeks...".
I keep thinking of an expert being sent in to check whether soemthing has been carried out with due care and attention i.e. that there is no negligence.
What do you think?

Due diligence review

Explanation:
