e gia' inglese Explanation: ma che strane frasi: una due diligence che durera' alcuni (should be alcune) settimane? e poi una due diligence che ha esito negativo, non e' mica un esame del sangue! fosse per caso una traduzione "a macchina"? Obviously it is a borrowed English frase but used to mean something quite different. Since posing the question I have done a search using www.virgilio.it and found a site www.studiomintoap.com which "fornisce servizi..in materie di organizzazione aziendale, pianificazione fiscale, consulenza del lavoro,..., due diligence, ecc" I am still only guessing the above suggestion on the basis of the context. |

The meaning has changed in English before the phrase was borrowed, it's of course not yet the original meaning of the word "diligence". due diligence Explanation: Just guessing again here, Christine, but could we be talking of some kind of investigation or verification? If you read: "the cost of a due diligence investigation" AND "if the due diligence investigation were to have negative results" AND "a future due diligence investigation that will last two weeks...". I keep thinking of an expert being sent in to check whether soemthing has been carried out with due care and attention i.e. that there is no negligence. What do you think? Angela |
