but this is just a guess, because to understand the real meaning some more context would be needed, that is missing here
anyway, avente causa in general should mean someone whose obligations or rights (I don't know which) can be ascribed to the socio, derive from him, are caused by him. As you know your context, I guess that by now you are perhaps able to determine which is which. If you aren't, please supply more context from before the phrase you have quoted.
