Italian term or phrase: elisioni
I know this could be wearing thin, but
"Elisioni e rettifiche"
is a column in the "prospetti di raccordo" I mentioned earlier (some sort of summary of income statements and balance sheets).

It may be worth discussing "elisione". I think this term is mostly used in grammar when we are taught at school that "lo albero" should be written "l'albero". Elision is the "cancellation of a vowel" and perhaps this term is improperly used in your balance sheete, but I think that "cancellation" the meaning.

Great, and thanks to Anusca for the grammatical notes. As for tax avoidance, isn't the Italian word "elusioni"?

Explanation:
"Elisione d'imposta" is tax avoidance, the (perfectly legal) process of arranging one's affairs to pay as little tax as possible.

Confuse the above concept with tax evasion at your peril!

Explanation:
D'Alessandro ha ragione, ma forse la soluzione ha altre ragioni.

Elidere in ALGEBRA significa cancel e annul. Mi spiego.

+1 e -1 = 0

Questo vale anche in contabilità:

100 in DARE e 100 in AVERE = 0

oppure nel tuo caso

100 azioni comprate e poi 100 vendute = 0

Ci sono state due transazioni, dal punto di vista concreto, ma è come se non fosse accaduto nulla.

Invece di adjustments anche amendments
