Italian term or phrase: assuntore del concordato
From an academic paper on insolvency proceedings:

I realise that this term has been posted in the past (http://www.proz.com/kudoz/184193), but the translation offered (assignee under agreement) does not seem to fit the bill at all (the only google hit this answer got was itself, and the idea of arrangement/composition should probably be included in the translation).
Any ideas (or better still, an 'official' translation of the term)?

official assignee
Explanation:
It could be the official assignee, or third-party assignee.

I did, however, find it translated in the Parmalat website as "assumptor for the composition with creditors". Not sure about this though.

Thanks for the suggestions Jules. After a bit of a look around, I'm beginning to think that assumptor may actually be the best option (although new to me, I must admit), since assumption is used when talking of taking on others' obligations and debts
