Hi all -

I was just wondering what this phrase means:
it seems to be an additional contact in an address.

The original is along these lines:

Direttore: Sig. Smith
Referente practica: Sig. Jones

Director: Mr. Smith
_______ Sig. Jones

Any idea what we would use in English?

Explanation:
Here 'pratica' is presumably an application, 'referente' is normally a person who is charge of completing the application.

In Italian the whole expression would be 'referente per l'istruttoria della pratica'. Yours is a short, elliptical way of putting it.

case worker (case manager)


Explanation:
Well known as a term used in social work, this term is also used across a wide range of areas in UK, i.e. we have "case workers" in politics, medicine, housing etc - used a lot in social and government bodies, but is also used in private or commercial sectors sometimes and is easily understood.

I have also seen "case manager" on the internet but find "case worker"to be more frequently used in UK anyway - maybe "case manager" would be the American term I am not sure, but have seen it on US websites.
