I'm translating an academic CV from Italian into English. Some of the sections are already in English due to her having studied abroad in England. Here is a term in its full context I've never seen before; don't know if it's an Italian or English abbreviation. Aiutatemi! Vi ringrazio in anticipo.

Generally there is a period to indicate it is an abbreviation. It is used to indicate that the names following the publication's title are not the authors, but merely editors of various people's work.

You could leave it or just add the period.
