Does "valle" here mean "downstream" or something else??? Thanks!!

Durante il normale funzionamento degli impianti, per un semplice meccanismo di erosione, la corrente gassosa durante il transito sul catalizzatore trascina della polvere di quest’ultimo nelle apparecchiature e valle, disperdendo piccole quantità di polvere di catalizzatore lungo le apparecchiature di processo.

You're right, I hadn't noticed - I think it's a typo and should say "le apparecchiature a valle", not "e valle". That's how I actually read it!

Asker: My doubt came from the fact that it doesn't say "a valle" though, just "valle". Do you think it is valid anyway? I can't find any other meanings that would fit... Thanks!
