Italian to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Chemistry; Chem Sci/Eng
Italian term or phrase: lo slarri
My document is talking about the production of vinyl chloride monomer and latex. The document is actually a transcription of spoken language so it is possible that there are transcription errors. The speaker is referring to slides that I have not been (and cannot be) provided with so it's hard for me to know exactly what slarri refers to [the inverted commas occur in the source text], .....

"...alla fine del ciclo di produzione in sospension del polimero 223. Queste sigle, 223 ed altre, stanno a significare una diversa formulazione del prodotto, ancorché la produzione è una produzione dello "slarri", pero' con diverse formulazioni. ... Poi durante lo scarico dello slarri 229 nella tramoggia e nel serbatoio del diasaggio; terzo, durante lo scarico delle acque di lavaggio di un autoclave nella canaletta di scolo delle acque reflue..."

English translation:slurry
Explanation:
It looks like a phonetic transcription of the English word "slurry", which seems to make sense in the context.

There again, I'm no chemist.

agree  K Donnelly: Seems likely. Slurry is a common term in chemistry - I was a chemist ;)

agree  Tom in London: Yes. Clearly the Italian author prefers "slurry" but doesn't know how to pronounce it. ("Sslari"?)

sospensione

Explanation:
può significare proprio sospensione, visto che si parla di produzione in sospensione
