Hi, Jim, thanks very much for your input. In fact, the train thing is exactly what it must be - it's called a RBC but I was afraid this might be a trade name and didn't want to mention it. I assumed that radio block was something to do with an entertainment centre but I assumed wrong. It must the the railway thing. I should have looked it up - sorry everyone, and thanks for taking the trouble, Jim. Any ideas on translating nucleo di sicurezza? Am still not sure if it's people or if it's a thing.

I'm sorry but I can't give you any further info because I don't know what this "thing" is except that it's called a Radio Block Centre 2nd Generation. The document is just about procedures to be followed in checking quality but there are no product specifications as such.

What do you mean by "radio or music center" center exactly? Sembra una pessima traduzione dall'inglese... A naso direi che si riferisce ai diversi livelli dei modelli di certificazione della qualita' del software...ma potrebbe riferirsi anche a quello che dici tu cioe' alla sicurezza del software per quanto concerne il "core".
