Italian to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Computers: Software | | Italian term or phrase: passaggi di codice | How would passaggi be translated in this context? This is from a procedure relating to chanage management:
Si deve compilare una Change Request tutte le volte che occorre eseguire:
passaggi di codice in produzione,
passaggi di codice in collaudo interno/esterno,
alterazioni delle configurazioni applicative,
che implementino modifiche a un servizio già in produzione o alle infrastrutture su cui poggia il servizio. |

| | English translation:to release code | Explanation: Makes sense to go through a change control procedure when you release new or amended code (=program(s)) into a production area and/or into a test area. Software developments are generally kept in separate, controlled areas depending on whether they are a work in progress, being tested, or live. Sorry for stating the obvious if you already knew that.
I can't believe "eseguire" means "to run" in this context, as no company in its right mind would have people fill in a change control form every time new production code was run.. |

Reference information: "che implementino modifiche a un servizio" e cioè "che implementino modifiche a un software utilizzato per in servizio" oppure proprio al servizio?

Hm , this was supposed to be a discussion entry. If it is the first the codice is definitely code and probably source code. It is the second, changes to the actual service itself then, I feel they are inventing their own terminology, unless it is product codes or something like that.

Asker: I believe the second is what is meant
