Italian to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Computers: Systems, Networks
Italian term or phrase: elaboratori
In the context of an information security management system. Is it right in this case to refer to 'processors' or would it be better to use something like 'data processors' or 'data processing system' or even just computers?

A.11.5: OPERATING SYSTEM ACCESS CONTROL
Obiettivo del controllo: Prevenire l'accesso non autorizzato ai sistemi operativi
Motivazione: Questo controllo è stato scelto, ove applicabile, in quanto i rischi di accesso agli **elaboratori** sono stati valutai come alti.

systems

Explanation:
An alternative that would be usable in this case. I would rate "systems" and "computers" as equally good in this case, though of course not in general for "elaboratori".

Peer comments on this answer (and responses from the answerer)
disagree  xxxMr Murray: There are too many other words in Italian for 'systems,' and it wouldn't make much sense here. I'd translate 'elaboratori' as 'server' or 'mainframe' before I'd even consider 'systems' for this translation.
