sump pump system
Explanation:

Hi Jean,
I’m pretty sure this is a well with a submersible pump, in other words a well that collects water in a room that is below the normal drainage level with a pump in the well to pump the water away and prevent flooding. They’re quite common in garages, cellars etc. Sometimes you’ll have 2 pumps because one can often fail.

For continuous wall foundations, drain tiles installed around the entire footing perimeter can greatly reduce moisture within the crawlspace. The drain tiles should lead to a storm drain, a sump with a pump, or other positive drain system that moves the water away from the structure.
