Italian to English translations [PRO]
Construction / Civil Engineering
Italian term or phrase: (scavata in) rottura di muro
Si parla di un cunicolo di demolizione (demolition tunnel) all'interno di un bastione:

L’accesso è scavato in rottura di muro, a 0.4 m al di sopra di una risega, e misura 0.66x0.58 m. Ha uno sviluppo complessivo di 6.9 m e al termine del primo tratto la sezione misura 0.67x0.37 m. L’opera è scavata in rottura di muro e quasi normalmente rispetto la faccia del bastione.

I did already ask this question some time ago, when translating another document. Now it's come up again and I'm not convinced with the answer given or my own possible translations.

I just don't get "L’opera è scavata in rottura di muro ...". The "opera" (tunnel) is 6.9 m long.

I suppose it simply means that it's been created inside the walls themselves. But if so, what does the "quasi normalmente" mean??

As ever any confirmation/suggestions are much appreciated!
