Italian to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Construction / Civil Engineering
Italian term or phrase:nottolino
Contesto : finestre
Devo tradurre : nottolino a fungo
Posso tradurre con " mushroom snib" ???? Non ne sono sicuro.
Explanation: I know nottolino is also ratchet or pawl but, in this case, talking about window fittings I think it is just a knob; see: http://www.lineacali.it/index.php?l=it&onlpg=2&idn=36&idnp=4...
and you will see there are nearly 60,000 hits for "mushroom knob". Actually your "snib" could also be right if we are talking about a very small knob held between thumb and finger, also known as a thumbturn (as shown here): http://www.ferramentavannucci.it/ though these are not really "mushroom".
