Alessandra Renna: 1:59pm Oct 6, 2007: I think it is something similar to "panino soffiato", "soffiatina", "soffiata". They are very puffed rolls with very little or no soft part inside

fluffed baguette (or French bread)

Explanation:
Rather than referring to its volume, fluffed recalls an image of suppleness, lightness, airy etc.
when I read the sentence I thought of fluffing pillows, unrelated content-wise...
