Italian term or phrase: l'ambìto ingaggio
Ancora non è stato infatti assegnato un mandato alle banche: almeno cinque o sei istituti stanno già lavorando per ottenere l'ambìto ingaggio, che probabilmente sarà limitato a non più di 4 soggetti. Ancora non è stata neppure decisa la scadenza del bond.

the enviable commission
Explanation:
enviable varies the above some (for sound only). 'bonus' is out: it may follow from an engagement (ingaggio) but is not same. commission specifies engagement

sought-after engagement / bonus

Explanation:
I believe "ambito" is being used in its adjective sense here, but I am not quite sure about the word "ingaggio". Among the possible definitions:

bonus; engagement, employment, hiring, hire [Source: Dizionario Garzanti Hazon di Inglese]

Perhaps \"fee\" as well. In the world of entertainment, \"ingaggio\" can mean \"signing on fee\". Again, these are just suggestions. I would wait to see what some of our colleagues think! :)
