Italian term or phrase: la leva del prezzo
Nonostante i diversi tentativi di produrre i vini di Pinot grigio in diversi paesi viticoli fuori dall'Italia, spesso utilizzando la leva del prezzo, le tipologie e la qualita' dei vini ottenuti in Italia sono apparsi i piu' graditi dal consumatore.

English translation:[playing] the price card
Explanation:
It means that they use price as a marketing angle, as a strategy, to try and sell Pinot grigio wines which have been produced outside Italy. Literally, it means "using the price lever", but I think it sounds much more natural to say "playing the price card" in English.
